Thousands Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Storms
Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems swept through the region, bringing wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Broad Damage
Residents witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units deployed to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also faced power outages after Melbourne recorded its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Rescue organizations handled over five hundred calls for help across the state, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At the height on Sunday, in excess of 28k power users in the state were experiencing outages.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along significant areas of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both areas.

Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, especially given the current weather patterns.
